I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While the location is peaceful and convenient, and the ambiance feels authentically charming, I was disappointed by the state of the room, which was dull and had a musty smell. The amenities were decent, but the breakfast left a lot to be desired, given the limited selection. Overall, it was a decent stay if you appreciate a historic vibe, but it could use some improvements.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was really authentic yet had a bit of a musty smell. It felt dim and slightly dirty, which was not ideal.
Service
6.0
The service was friendly, but there wasn't much in the way of additional amenities like room service or welcome drinks.
Location
8.0
The hotel is located in a peaceful area, away from the hustle and bustle of central Nelson, which I really appreciated. It has a lovely 'old English pub' feel and is close to the beach and local attractions.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were quite limited, with only a small box of cereal, yogurt, and an apple provided, which felt a bit lacking considering the price.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel has a few nice amenities, but nothing exceptionally special. It's good enough for what you need.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! The location is superb right beside the water, giving off a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were a bit smaller than I expected but very clean, which was a plus. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the amenities made my stay comfortable. However, I felt that the dining options could use some improvement, especially for breakfast. Overall, the hotel offers great value for money, but it isn't without its small drawbacks.

I had a good stay at this hotel, which was conveniently located near main roads for easy access to Nelson city. The rooms were massive but quite dated, and I struggled a bit with the temperature since the fan wasn't working well. The service was okay, though they provided some useful amenities. While the breakfast left a lot to be desired, the overall experience offered decent value for the price paid.

The room was a massive size but felt dated and rather uncomfortable, with a tiny window and an old bathroom that really needs an update.

Dining

The hotel had basic facilities, but nothing stood out as particularly impressive.

The hotel had a good value for the price, with clean rooms and a nice view. However, it did feel a bit grubby at times, and the noise from the bar below was a little disruptive in the evenings. The location was convenient for getting around, and having breakfast included was a nice bonus, even if the dining options were quite limited.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms, while clean, felt a bit grubby and were located near a kitchenette, which added to the noise level from the bar in the evenings.
Service

Service was decent with basic amenities available, although I didn't take full advantage of room service or other perks.
Location
8.0
The location suited my needs, being easy to get onto main roads for a short drive into Nelson city, with a nice view for dining.
Dining

I had a delightful stay at this hotel! The rooms were beautifully decorated and really comfortable, with two continental breakfasts included in the package, which was a nice touch. The location offered stunning views of the Waimea Estuary, perfect for watching sunsets. However, the heat in the room at night made it a bit uncomfortable. Overall, it's a good value for money, but some improvements in cooling would really enhance the experience.
